The english language, a money-making ressource Nowadays, english has become the most widely used second language in the world. During my travels through many countries in different continents, I noticed that many people were interested in learning the american language. To my question "why", almost all of them had to answer that it wasn't because they like to learn about occidental culture, it wasn't also because they are keen of linguistics but only because they could use it to earn more money and make a living. We can easily understand this phenomenon when we look at the TV programs : everything is beautiful, perfect, majestic. This "comfort to attain" wouldn't even be imaginable for these distant people without media... Quikly, means to increase hapiness begin to lack and it seems only money and material can raise our quality of life. But we know that this is totaly false. The corporations and international businesses want us to believe that hapiness comes from easyness and lazyness. We have to admit that they can be enjoyable from time to time, but to overdo it leads unavoidably to loss of happyness and bad health. It is clear to me today that the joy in life is built from human relations, the concretization of positive projects, never-ending lerning and the miracles of nature. Esperanto as a tool to unite international ecological and humanitarian communitiesMy point of view is that people don't have good enough reasons to make the considerable effort required to learn english. I mean that I think they won't successfully attain their goals of well-being by the money they will get from this project. Alternatively, I suggest to everybody who feel something is missing from their life to choose the path of nature and international community, to bring the life to a better state. In fact, I am sure that we can make Esperanto the language of humans (in opposition to english which I consider to be the language of money), in the whole world. In order to do that, a first important step is to convert most of the humanitarian and ecological organizations to use Esperanto in their international activities (where the choice of a common language is necessary). Once the interest towards the language is developed, the organization could promote it as second language in the places where they work. Let's start by The Earth Being ! Luckily, Internet is a wonderful tool to help us share the idea and inform organization about Esperanto, its easyness of use and the advantage of its national and politic neutrality. Let's share the good news! Yan Levasseur For more information about Esperanto : To learn Esperanto: |
